College football is moving more and more towards nuetral sites, and Northwestern and Illinois have had the spotlight since they announced that they are playing at Wrigley Field this fall. Notre Dame is scheduled to play at Yankee Stadium vs. Army this fall. However, Notre Dame wanted to make their game against Miami even more special, so they decided to play it at a nuetral site. That site? Soldier Field.
I think that this is a brilliant idea. Of course, there is nothing like South Bend, Indiana on the day of a Notre Dame football game, but the athmosphere thatmake ND famous will be no less accross the border. There are tons of Irish fans in Chicago, second only to the Fighting Illini.
Irish and Hurricane fans remember well the rivalry that stirred fights in the 1980s, and this game is sure to be a game to remember, it is sure to "Wake Up the Echos" of this intense rivalry. People haven't forgotten, either. The game was announced on Thursday or Friday, and T-shirts are already being ordered: http://www.zazzle.com/catholics_vs_convicts_tshirt-235562748946221185
